Saturday Morning Webtoons: TEARS ON A WITHERED FLOWER and ALL COLORS OF SNOW

Good morning, fellow WEBTOON readers, and welcome to this week's installment of Saturday Morning Webtoons! This is where we shine a light on two WEBTOONs we are thoroughly enjoying. These stories have captivated us, chapter by chapter, each week, and we couldn't pass up sharing them with you! So grab your favorite snacks and an electronic device and settle into these sensational stories. DISCLAIMER: The following posts may contain spoilers for the WEBTOON series Tears on a Withered Flower and All Colors of Snow . RELATED: 10 Best WEBTOON Series Released in 2024 Tears on a Withered Flower Tears on a Withered Flower WEBTOON Original Series. We are heading back into the romance category on this week's installment. Kicking things off is GAE's Tears on a Withered Flower . The story follows Haesu, a young woman struggling in her marriage. After working so hard to clear up his debt, only to learn he cheated with a coworker, her life starts to spiral. During this, she is drawn to a mysterious man named Taeha, who has been desperately seeking her attention. But could he be hiding something that she's too desperate to see? We love a good WEBTOON series, but there is something about those that fall into the mature category. Tears on a Withered Flower doesn't shy away from the intensity this story brings. Haesu and Mincheol's relationship is herendous from the moment we meet them. Having the opportunity to see both perspectives enhances our understanding of the subject. The series is still new, but it has already captured our hearts. We want the best for Haesu, and at this point, there is a chance neither gentleman will fit the bill. Tears on a Withered Flower updates every Thursday. Readers can find it on the official WEBTOON page. RELATED: 5 Tyrants that WEBTOON Made Me Fall in Love With All Colors of Snow All Colors of Snow WEBTOON Original Series. Our second series, Ah Ai Maria's All Colors of Snow , falls into the romance category as well. The story follows Eugene, a young girl living in France and a part of high society. But that isn't where she wants to be. She wants more than balls, operas, embroidery and all that comes with being a lady. Eugene wants adventure. She wants to see the world and experience everything it has to offer. And after a fateful encounter with a mysterious Count, all of Eugene's might come true. But so may her nightmares. We enjoy a good historical romance, but we love one that also features drama and suspense. All Colors of Snow meets all of these things and never takes itself too seriously. We love the attention to detail, along with updating things like the dialogue to fit the normal flow of this century. While this series is a new original, it did spend some time in Canvas, which is where we first fell in love. No spoilers here, but readers are going to be over the moon with this series. We suggest not waiting to dive in, start early and read it often. All Colors of Snow updates every Wednesday. Readers can find it on the official WETBOON page. Book Review: THE ROM-COM COOKBOOK

RESIDENT ALIEN Recap: (S04E04) Truth Hurts

Resident Alien Season 4 Episode 4, 'Truth Hurts,' sees Harry endure the pains of love as a product of telling the truth. As it turns out, navigating a relationship with an alien and your alien babies is pretty damn hard when you're human. The outing is a bit slower, but it fleshes out our core character dynamics and, at least for Kate, plants the narrative seeds for what's to come. Plus, Alan Tudyk and Edi Patterson are comedic perfection together. RELATED: Read our recap of the previous Resident Alien episode, 'Ties That Bind' Resident Alien, 'Truth Hurts' We open with a flashback to 20 years ago, at the Hawthorne house. Young Ben is hosting a rager. D'arcy, who was recently away from town doing her skiing thang, confesses that she likes Ben. Not 'likes' him — like likes him. They kiss. Suddenly, Judy stumbles out of the front door while attempting to drag a keg. The cops are on their way to bust the party. Aw, nuts. In the present day, Harry (Tudyk) reckons with being the father of more children. Heather (Patterson) is in her Blue Avian form. Harry's attraction to her in this form has waned significantly to … nonexistent. She nonchalantly informs him that she killed the Mantid. His corpse is outside. Heather offers some of his guts to Harry, which Harry politely declines. RESIDENT ALIEN — 'Truth Hurts' Season 4 Episode 4 — Pictured: Alan Tudyk as Harry Vanderspeigle — (Photo by: James Dittiger/USA Network) Being Human Is Romantic Then, Harry proposes that Heather return to her human form while they're together. It could be romantic. Sure, she'll only have one vagina, but if it's what Harry wants… RELATED: TV Review: Resident Alien Season 4 Later, Asta (Sara Tomko) and D'arcy (Alice Wetterlund) chat with Kayla (Sarah Podemski) at the diner. She's now up to date on all the alien madness, including Heather slaughtering the Mantid. Kayla's irritated that Asta has left her out of the loop for so long. She almost spills the alien secret to Jay (Kaylayla Raine), who's working a shift at the diner. Side note: Where's everyone's favorite dad, Dan? I demand to see him. Anyway, D'arcy reveals they're heading to Harry's cabin to bury the Mantid. They invite Kayla to join them, but she opts out. As it turns out, burying alien corpses isn't on her bucket list. Meanwhile, Mike (Corey Reynolds) describes the Mantid to Liv (Elizabeth Bowen) in intricate detail as she sketches the (now dead) creature. Liv captures his likeness so well, even though she doesn't quite understand the physicality of one who catches their roommate wearing their favorite jeans. Metal Sasquatch Liv asks Mike if he's talked to Lena yet about an alien being behind the murders. He's working his way up to it. Then, our dynamic duo learns about a strange 'sasquatch' sighting in the woods. Mike tells Liv to ensure Peter, our resident cyborg Terminator, remains hidden from the general public. RELATED: 10 Out-of-This-World Predictions for Resident Alien Season 4 Then, Asta and D'arcy pay Harry a visit. They meet his bird alien kiddos. After Heather emerges from the bedroom, Bridget tries to consume one of said bird alien kiddos. Thankfully, Harry pulls the child out before they become part of the contents of Bridget's stomach. Harry literally kicks Bridget out the door, which made me laugh louder than it should have. What a good dad. RESIDENT ALIEN — 'Truth Hurts' Season 4 Episode 4 — Pictured: (l-r) Alice Wetterlund as D'Arcy Bloom, Sara Tomko as Asta Twelvetrees — (Photo by: James Dittiger/USA Network) After this, Asta and D'arcy watch in horror as Heather 'breastfeeds' by vomiting what looks like a green smoothie into a bag. Yum. Harry appears unwell. When it seems like Harry might disclose his human status to Heather, the two engage in foreplay instead. They put on a show for D'arcy and Asta. Patterson and Tudyk are hilariously electric together. So funny. Deep Hole Judy Later, Asta and D'arcy enlist the aid of Judy (Jenna Lamia), who's apparently an expert gravedigger from her time working in the cemetery. 'Deep Hole Judy,' they called her. Deep Hole Judy sings a merry tune while she digs. (She doesn't know who's going in the hole, though.) RELATED: All Is Not Well in Patience in Resident Alien Season 4 Trailer At the same time, Ben (Levi Fiehler) and Kate (Meredith Garretson) both guess how D'arcy is involved with the aliens. Kate suspects she is an alien, while Ben proposes she was abducted. Kate pivots, wondering if the Greys kidnapped D'arcy's baby while she was pregnant. They decide to approach D'arcy about it, while treading carefully, of course. RESIDENT ALIEN — 'Truth Hurts' Season 4 Episode 4 — Pictured: (l-r) Nicola Correia-Damude as Detective Lena Torres, Corey Reynolds as Sheriff Mike Thompson — (Photo by: James Dittiger/USA Network) Elsewhere, Mike and Lena (Nicola Correia-Damude) go on a walk. Mike finally divulges his truth — he believes in aliens. Not only that, but he saw an alien feasting on a deer in the woods. He describes the Mantid to Lena. She's incredulous. So, a praying mantis-type alien is behind all the murders? This drives a wedge between Mike and Lena (understandably so). Have You Watched Any Documentaries Lately? Later, Asta and D'arcy prepare to bury the Mantid after Judy dug a perfect hole with startlingly accurate dimensions. Judy has a gift. The following day, Ben and Kate meander into The 59. They try to casually — and subtly — address the alien-shaped elephant in the room. Kate claims she and Ben watched an alien documentary the other day about a race of aliens who abducted babies from their mothers' wombs. Does this resonate with D'arcy? RELATED: New TV Shows This Week (June 22 – 28) Ben reminds D'arcy about when she told him he'd been abducted by aliens. At one point, D'arcy pretends to be offended by what the Hawthornes are telling her. She excuses herself to 'get some air.' However, she's secretly panicking because Kate and Ben are clearly aware of Daisy's existence. Meanwhile, Asta finds Harry in his office with her coat. Being human sucks; he's perpetually cold. Asta learns that Harry hasn't told Heather yet about losing his alien energy. She encourages him to tell her the truth. Relationships are about honesty and transparency. She also calls Harry out on referring 90 percent of his patients to the other doctor while keeping his therapy sessions open. Harry admits it's tough having to contend with a puny human brain. Truth Hurts and Heals Then, D'arcy pops by with a revelation: Ben and Kate know their baby, well, exists. Harry reveals Kate opened up about her child during a hypnosis session. D'arcy believes they should tell the Hawthornes about Daisy. However, Asta and Harry push back, claiming the Greys will ultimately abduct the child again when they take Kate. This doesn't sit well with D'arcy. RELATED: The Premise and How Star Trek Fans Created Fanfic as We Know It Elsewhere, Liv and John (Trevor Carroll) set up a camera at the spot where Mike saw the Mantid in the woods. Liv is admittedly envious that everyone is seeing aliens but her. She still can't believe John saw the Loch Ness Monster. (Love this Nessie confirmation on Resident Alien .) RESIDENT ALIEN — 'Truth Hurts' Season 4 Episode 4 — Pictured: Elizabeth Bowen as Deputy Liv Baker — (Photo by: James Dittiger/USA Network) Later, Heather surprises Harry with dinner. Harry finally bares his soul to Heather — he's fully human now. The Greys stole his alien energy. Heather is accepting of this. In fact, she proposes to Harry, calling him the love of her life. Harry admits something else: He doesn't find her Blue Avian form attractive anymore. Heather's fine with remaining a human, if that makes him happy. He Said Yes Harry says yes to the proposal. Huzzah! They embrace, and Heather confesses that it'll be tricky navigating the familial waters, since her parents are quite racist against humans, but they'll make it work. After this, the pair dives into potential colors for their wedding. Heather's maid of honor will be her sister, while Harry names Asta his best man. Aw. I love their friendship. RELATED: Read our SurrealEstate recaps Suddenly, Heather's father arrives. He ain't happy about his baby girl marrying a human. He attacks Harry. Elsewhere, D'arcy is closing up the pub when Ben slips in to confront her. He realizes D'arcy might not have felt comfortable disclosing her truth to Kate, but he and Darce go waaay back. She can tell him the truth. Is there anything about aliens that Ben should know? Particularly related to his multiple abductions? D'arcy's face changes, but she remains resolute. She doesn't divulge Daisy's location. Ben asks her again. It's clear he knows she's withholding something. Ugh, I wish D'arcy knew that Ben and Kate removed their chips. After Ben departs, D'arcy calls Judy, in need of a drinking buddy. As it turns out, Judy has been in the bar this whole time. RESIDENT ALIEN — 'Truth Hurts' Season 4 Episode 4 — Pictured: Corey Reynolds as Sheriff Mike Thompson — (Photo by: James Dittiger/USA Network) Break It Off After this, Harry and Heather have a heart-to-heart. Well, this is following her dad's violent confrontation with Harry. Harry believes Heather deserves to be her true self with someone who loves her. She shouldn't have to hide her alien form just because Harry finds it repulsive. Heather doesn't want to part ways, but she understands. She asks Harry to recite his favorite poem in the language of his people one last time. It tugs at the heartstrings with its series of screeches and moans. RELATED: Revival : Check Out 9 First-Look Photos From Melanie Scrofano-Led Series The following day, Mike and Lena mend fences. She might not understand his belief in aliens, but she loves him anyway. Yes, they both say the l-word to each other. Awww. Mike advises Lena to exercise caution while delving into this murder investigation. Aliens are not to be trifled with. After Heather and the babies leave, Asta comforts Harry. He's experiencing his first heartbreak as a full-fledged human — one with a dairy allergy. He wonders if he'll always feel this way. Asta reassures him that it gets better. I love these two so much. RESIDENT ALIEN — 'Truth Hurts' Season 4 Episode 4 — Pictured: (l-r) Meredith Garretson as Kate Hawthorne, Milania Kerr as Cookie Girl — (Photo by: James Dittiger/USA Network) We're Everywhere Meanwhile, Kate and Max (Judah Prehn) emerge from a clothing store. MURDERBOT Recap: (S01E08) Foreign Object

Murderbot Season 1 Episode 8, 'Foreign Object,' delivers a handful of narrative revelations, from confirmation of Gurathin's love for Mensah (although, let's be real, this was evident from the get-go) to SecUnit slaughtering 57 miners. That last one is a doozy. We finally have context regarding those violent flashbacks. Additionally, our resident throuple attempts to call it quits, and the alien remnants are back in the conversation. Oh, and Leebeebee's employer? A shady mining company. It's a lot . But damn, is it fun. I love this show. RELATED: Read our recap of the previous Murderbot episode, 'Complementary Species' Murderbot, 'Foreign Object' We open with a scene from The Rise & Fall of Sanctuary Moon . The lieutenant (Clark Gregg) is now the captain after the Navigation Unit (DeWanda Wise) decapitated the former captain (John Cho). However, he wiped the Nav Bot's memories, so she won't go all homicidal again. He tries to reassure the crew of this, but the Navigation Officer (Jack McBrayer) isn't so certain. The captain urges the crew to forge ahead (Boldness is all, right?). He tells the Nav Bot to smile, which she does — creepily. Instead of sending the ship through the wormhole, the Navigation Unit has them skirting the event horizon. So, they're stuck … forever. MURDERBOT Season 1 Episode 8, 'Foreign Object' — Photo courtesy of Apple TV+ Plot Twist Then, the Nav Bot proceeds to kill the crew. She zeroes in on the captain, though, and we learn that she didn't kill the former captain/her lover — he did. So, the Navigation Unit pops his head like a zit. DeWanda Wise is amazing in this few-minute scene. She kills it (literally). RELATED: Alexander Skarsgård Goes Rogue in Murderbot Trailer Unfortunately, Murderbot (Alexander Skarsgård) can't finish the episode to see how it all plays out. Mensah (Noma Dumezweni) interrupts it. We see our PresAux gang has parked the hopper a safe distance from the habitat. Gurathin (David Dastmalchian) isn't doing so well. He needs the med bay now. Ratthi (Akshay Khanna) offers to scour the area for any hostiles. MURDERBOT Season 1 Episode 8, 'Foreign Object' — Photo courtesy of Apple TV+ However, SecUnit remarks that it doesn't see any vehicles. It grabs the camera it installed nearby that collects footage from the habitat. Mensah, Ratthi and Murderbot rejoin Arada (Tattiawna Jones), Pin-Lee (Sabrina Wu), Bharadwaj (Tamara Podemski) and Gurathin inside the hopper. They watch the footage. GrayCris In it, a few SecUnits, much like the rogue ones who attacked our crew, enter the habitat, followed by real humans. Pin-Lee researches the insignia on their clothing. They're from GrayCris, a mining company. Their leader (Amanda Brugel) addresses the gang. She admits to dismantling PresAux and DeltFall's beacons. However, they killed Leebeebee, so she declares they should call it a wash. RELATED: David Dastmalchian Joins Apple TV+ Murderbot Adaptation If our heroes want to get off the planet, the GrayCris leader states they must cooperate. She sends them a designated meeting location and time where they can hash this out. She insists this is a misunderstanding. As a gesture of good faith, GrayCris will depart their habitat. 'This doesn't have to end in violence,' the GrayCris leader says, causing our titular bot to scoff in disbelief. Mensah insists they get Gurathin down to the habitat now. Everyone debates whether they can trust GrayCris to leave, or if they're lying in wait to attack. Murderbot decides to survey the area itself. (Sorry, Ratthi.) MURDERBOT Season 1 Episode 8, 'Foreign Object' — Photo courtesy of Apple TV+ Dangerous Procedure After concluding that the habitat is safe, the PresAux crew returns with Gurathin. They set him up in the med bay. Bharadwaj informs the group that Gurathin has gas gangrene — a projectile from the skirmish with the rogue SecUnit embedded itself in Gurathin's leg wound. However, Bharadwaj can remove it. RELATED: New TV Shows This Week (June 22 – 28) Gurathin insists on no painkillers because he's a recovering addict. Mensah honors this. Murderbot believes it can block Gurathin's central nervous system to prevent pain. After all, Gurathin is an augmented human. SecUnit insists it only needs to plug into Gurathin. It's done this before. Mensah hopes it didn't get this idea from a Sanctuary Moon episode. (Okay, it was episode 502 of Medcenter Argala .) SecUnit and Gurathin connect via hardwire. Now, Murderbot has access to Gurathin's database, as it were. We finally get confirmation that Gurathin carries a torch for Mensah. And it's unrequited. Ouch. Murderbot finds itself saying 'I love you,' echoing one of Gurathin's memories. It's quite emotional. MURDERBOT Season 1 Episode 8, 'Foreign Object' — Photo courtesy of Apple TV+ A Revelation Thankfully, Bharadwaj works quickly, removing the projectile in no time. She urges Gurathin and SecUnit to unlink. However, Gurathin decides to do a little snooping. That's when he taps into SecUnit's violent history. Those flashbacks Murderbot keeps having throughout the series? A memory of it killing 57 miners during a mining expedition. RELATED: On Location: The Lighterman in Apple TV+'s Slow Horses Gurathin tells the others what he saw. He adds that SecUnit calls itself 'Murderbot.' Naturally, the PresAux crew is horrified. SecUnit tries to explain itself. It has killed before, yes, but only to protect its clients. To it, that's not murder. 'It's debatable,' Pin-Lee remarks. SecUnit claims it's not a certainty that it murdered those 57 people. Gurathin pours salt in the wound, declaring that perhaps Murderbot is a faulty sentient construct. A malfunctioning machine that will inevitably turn on them. This moment mirrors the scene from Sanctuary Moon at the beginning of the episode. Murderbot storms out. Aliens and Throuples The team debates whether they need Murderbot. Can they go on without it? Should they still plan to meet GrayCris at the rendezvous point? Meanwhile, SecUnit goes for a walk to clear its head, playing clips from its favorite shows to alleviate its anxiety. It realizes it needs its clients to get off this planet. RELATED: On Location: The Phoenicia Diner on Apple TV+'s Severance At the same time, Pin-Lee explains why the Company wouldn't be involved in something like this. The DeltFall massacre reflects poorly on them. Dead people are bad for business. So, what does GrayCris want? Ratthi mentions the alien remnants that Mensah discovered. That could be enough to kill over. Next, Pin-Lee and Arada believe it's time to end the throuple arrangement. Ratthi enters their bedroom and voices the same sentiment, much to their relief. He claims it's because he's fallen in love with Pin-Lee. Of course, we know Arada has a crush on Ratthi. MURDERBOT Season 1 Episode 8, 'Foreign Object' — Photo courtesy of Apple TV+ I Have a Plan Regardless, these feelings certainly muddy the relationship waters a bit. Pin-Lee asks Arada if she doesn't find them attractive. She seems to be incredulous that Ratthi would be smitten with Pin-Lee. Ratthi insists they can all talk about this. Not now, though, because they might die. RELATED: Read our Murderbot recaps Suddenly, it dawns on Murderbot that it doesn't have to die. Sure, its clients might bite the dust, but that doesn't mean it has to. It's the author of its own story. Meanwhile, Gurathin and Bharadwaj insist everyone gather their supplies and flee. Mensah offers to meet with the GrayCris leader. Murderbot returns to the habitat to inform the PresAux crew of its plan. Does it involve murder? Who knows.
